English toffee 5x7

Another trade of confections for painting. I get a lot of toffee for this painting. A friend of mine makes it. It's addictive like meth.

moon #2 6x8

This time of year I don't have to stay up too late to do a night painting. Nocturnes are a lot of fun to paint. They force you to simplify. I usually mix my colors before going out.

grapes #3 5x7

The translucent nature of grapes makes them interesting to paint. There is not as great a difference in value between their lit side and their shadowed side as there would be if they were more opaque. I ate these when I was done painting them.

suburban tree 6x8

I had to go to Sacramento right after school to help a friend paint a room. I arrived about an hour before he did and had time to do this quick sketch. At one point the wind blew my pochade over but the painting ended up facing up. lucky.

pasilla pepper 7x5

There's lots of interesting reflected light happening in these dark green peppers.

habanero 5x5

These little guys are a great color, sort of translucent too. I think they're pretty fun to paint but too hot for me to eat.
