These are fun to paint and only available for a short time. My wife put a couple of them in some curry the other night.

persimmon #6 5x7

A student brought in a couple of persimmons the other day and I took 'em home so I could paint them over the vacation. He got them off of a tree in his yard. They seem to be brighter than the ones I've bought in the store recently. I think they're more ripe.

Persimmons are another thing about autumn that I really like. My mom makes great persimmon cookies.

strange persimmon 7x5.5

My friend Pollyanna put this very strange persimmon in my mailbox at school. I'm not sure if this type of thing is common among persimmons or not. It's certainly the oddest looking fruit I've ever seen.

persimmon #2 6x6

Persimmons are another great fall/winter fruit to paint. I love their dusky orange coloring and their strange, withered leaves.
