I rode my bike out tho the site of the new bridge below Folsom Dam this afternoon. The sun was pretty much right behind me so there aren't a lot of shadows helping to define the forms of these hills. I think the flatness of the light emphasizes the geometry of the neutral toned dirt piles and that's what attracted me to this scene in the first place.

This is great. It immediately reminded me of some of Thiebaud's landscapes, with the flat surfaces and diagonal lines, etc. Nice work.
Agree with Sharon....this is a beautiful piece, and it does have a bit of Thiebaud going on as well.
