Chelcie 5.5x7

My students are very excited about this new phase of my daily painting prject. They've made a list and are signing up weeks in advance. it's fun but I've been getting the urge to paint some other things. I think I'll pare it back to just a couple of portraits per week.
Chelcie was great fun to paint. She was very patient, relatively still and fun to talk to. The ideal model.

Cheyenne 5.5x7

Cheyenne has the most animated face I've ever encountered. She is constantly smiling and laughing. In some ways that made her a bit harder to paint. I had to be patient. Her face never really fell into a neutral expression. I guess her smile is neutral for her.

kayla 5.5x7

This was a very enjoyable painting to make. It's really the first time that I've had a conversation with one of my subjects, at least one where they talked back. Looking at it now, there are lots of things that I wish I'd handled a little differently but I can try them the next time. I now have a pretty long list of students who are willing to sit for me. I think they were all pretty impressed that I didn't have to resort to my "flesh" colored paint. I really want to thank Kayla for being so patient (next time I hope she doesn't drink a Rock Star before we start). I couldn't ask for a better model.
