I'm preparing to do a larger painting of the Rainbow Bridge in the studio. These smaller sketches are in preparation for that. This one was done earlier in the day before the bridge was in the full sun. It was very nice out this morning. A few hours after painting this the clouds rolled in and it started to rain.

This one was done a little closer to home. This bridge is about a mile from my house. Until recently, it was the main bridge over to Folsom.

Rainbow Bridge #2 10x8

I stayed a little closer to home today and painted the rainbow bridge again. This one is from a slightly higher vantage point that shows more of the water than the last one. It was pretty windy out there this afternoon and some dust got blown into the wet paint. I guess that's all part of the plein aire experience.

Rainbow Bridge 7x9

This is the Rainbow Bridge in Folsom. I rode my bicycle from my house paint this. Its about a mile and a half away. There are quite a few good vantage points for painting this so I will definitely be doing it again. It was clear and very windy today. Nice conditions for painting.
