- I am an artist living in Northern California. In 1993 I graduated from U.C. Davis where I took classes from Wayne Thiebaud, Dave Hollowell and Roy DeForest. I currently teach art at Chana High School in Auburn California. On this blog I have posted 1000 paintings in as many days. Lately I have not been as strict with my painting schedule although I still update this blog regularly. I want to do some larger paintings that may take me more than a day to complete. Hey Craig,
I drove to Winters on Sunday. It was wildly windy. I am still trying to find my wife who flew away...she might have landed in Vacaville.
Winters did not seem like much. My sense is that artists were driving up to the hill to get their views? It was really flat around town....
Yeah, Sunday was really windy. The wind stripped me of my negative ions and I had weird dreams Sunday night...
Winters is pretty flat but the hills make a nice backdrop for some of the local farms and I've found Putah Creek to have a lot of potential. There are also some nice trails up near Lake Berryessa that afford some impressive panoramas if you're up for a hike.
This is my second year doing this event and I'm just starting to figure out the lay of the land.
