suburban nocturne 7x7

It finally stopped raining late this afternoon. I went out at about 7:00 this evening to paint. I was inspired by this post on James Gurney's blog, Gurney Journey. This is probably the most helpful painting blog on the web. It's packed with wonderfully practical information.

Awesome stuff, Craig. Thanks for the kind words. What did you use to light your palette?

Thanks for stopping by James.
I used a small flexible lamp that I borrowed from my wife. She's a musician and uses it for lighting her sheet music when she plays in dark venues. It takes three AAA batteries. I'm not sure what kind of bulb it uses. The light was kind of cool compared to the yellowish light of the street lamps. I'm going to try to go out again tonight and I'll photograph my set up.
